The no-BS autism dad continues to battle nonsense in the Twitterverse with nuggets of personal wisdom. Enjoy some samples, and follow him on Twitter @jayhood73
We featured devoted single dad, βHood Jayβ in our blog last year. A prolific Tweeter, he never shies away from telling his truth, while always keeping it positive for his son Sheamus.
When I say my son is severely #autistic. I say so because #autism affects him severely
— Hood Jay πππ (@jayhood73) December 29, 2020
He stimms uncontrollably to the point of exhaustion, he's delayed mentally by at least 5yrs, sensory seeks constantly, etc etc etc.
It's a helluva lot more than quirkiness
Who's forcing autistic kids to eat sprouts? Or anything?
— Hood Jay πππ (@jayhood73) December 25, 2020
Us parents go to great lengths to get/prepare food exactly how they want it.#autismawareness https://t.co/P2lLVg1G92
Let's be real..

If you're grown and #autistic with education income,, housing, and the ability to Express yourself articulately on social media.
What the point of down playing the #autistics on the severe end that need support to do a portion of what you do.
From what I see on here, a lot of the big name actual autistics that have large followings, also have agendas that don't actually benefit anyone except the ones that identify with them.
— Hood Jay πππ (@jayhood73) December 29, 2020
It's no #autism awareness or advocacy going on, just identifying.
My son is severely #autistic always has been, always will be..
— Hood Jay πππ (@jayhood73) December 29, 2020
He won't magically become less severe as he gets older.
The older he gets, the more complicated and complex his issues become.
He's the definition of a classic severe #autistic.#autismawareness
Ya'll can keep asking the "actual autistics"
— Hood Jay πππ (@jayhood73) December 29, 2020
For autism advice and keep getting the same watered down recycled bullshit answers if you want.
None of what they say helps my severely autistic son.#autismawareness
As a parent of an #autistic kid, everything is about the kid, absolutely everything.
— Hood Jay πππ (@jayhood73) December 27, 2020
It has to be this way no matter what day, what time, what, month, what situation, what event etc.
It's never about the parents, ever.#autismawareness
With #autism I only tweet about what I experience with my son. I don't know what it's like for him, I only know what it's like to be an observer
— Hood Jay πππ (@jayhood73) December 26, 2020
I would never claim to fully understand #autism
What I tweet can't be made up or recycled to fit another narrative
I'm gonna write a blog about why Christmas and holidays in general suck now that son is older.
— Hood Jay πππ (@jayhood73) December 25, 2020
Gonna drop it on my birthday
I would strongly recommend parents of an #autistic
— Hood Jay πππ (@jayhood73) December 21, 2020
get them acquainted with the police department.
No matter what your feelings are towards the police, having them personally know your kid could make a huge difference in future interactions #autism
Anyone saying #ABA therapy is bad because of a personal experience, needs to realize every person on the spectrum is different with different unique needs.
— Hood Jay πππ (@jayhood73) December 21, 2020
It's not your place to judge a person's needs.#AutismAwareness
Rich parents that have severely #autistic kids.
— Hood Jay πππ (@jayhood73) December 20, 2020
Are they really doing this shit like us poor parents, 10 toes on the ground everyday, parenting ourselves into exhaustion everyday?
I doubt it, they're subcontracting that shit, but taking credit.
FOH
At all meal times

I transform our kitchen into a restaurant. Son puts on his apron, I made a time card to clock him in.
I'm the cook, he's kitchen help, washing dishes, doing prep, clean up etc. He gets paid every Friday (when I'm able) lol#autismawareness
My son loves treadmills, we have a full fitness center were we live.
— Hood Jay πππ (@jayhood73) December 18, 2020
I take him there as soon as they're open at 7am.
Let him for a while before people start coming in.#autism
I'm fully aware that when I tweet about #autism there's a parent somewhere reading it and feeling it in their soul.
— Hood Jay πππ (@jayhood73) December 17, 2020
This is why I don't stop
I'm destined to do this π€·πΎββοΈ
